Down, set, hut!

American football was introduced to us in our P.E session 2 weeks ago. Now i’m here standing in the left side of the field waiting for my time to strike, as I stood still hoping for my team to see me in an open space but all of a sudden Aleki ran straight into a pile of people 0_0.

It’s the start of the day at school and we were assigned to stand in a line outside. As we patiently waited we saw Lucas silently waiting for us on the field. Finally after a couple of minutes Mr. Nevalagi came out of the class giving us various different tasks we have to do before we go for our P.E session. I didn’t have a water bottle nor a jersey so I was free to go. We all walked towards Lucas waiting to get started.

We were doing a little recap from the last 2 weeks and Coach Lucas was calling the teams. I was put on yellow and “my” team named ourselves the yellow tigers. The games about to start and we need a play. Dj was thinking about doing the decoy play, pretending to throw right and gain the Opposition attention there then throw left. Couple of throws forward then I was there standing on the field.

We were losing  2-4 and there didn’t seem there was hope saying how good the oppositions strategy was. I haven’t had a run yet and I was left with the option to watch from afar. The ball has been passed back and forth to the same people every time leaving most of us annoyed. I felt destroyed in my brain and after watching my teammates run into groups of people I felt like my brains cells left me.

When you watch the ball spin and cut through the air you can think to yourself  “can we do better next time” and the short answer is yes. We could improve our eye sight looking for our teammates that are at an open space and also creating a strategy based on your opponents mind set. Most people think about the best people therefore targeting them till the end of time. The last thing they would think of is the others on the other side.

Giving others a chance is another thing to improve on. That’s the main reason I didn’t have a run. Letting everyone have fun is the key thing in sports and not putting anyone down. It was still fun to watch people run but it would be better if I ran too.
